Privacy-First Architecture

Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 5, 2026

Summary at a Glance

  • We do not require user accounts, passwords, or emails.
  • We do not store your keystrokes, typing results, or custom texts on any remote database.
  • All progress metrics are kept 100% locally on your own browser via HTML5 localStorage.
  • We do not use advertising tracking cookies or sell user profiles.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

When you use typepractice (accessible at typing.strivento.com), we deliberately minimize data processing. You can practice typing, track your speed, adjust settings, and take tests completely anonymously. We do not prompt for your name, phone number, physical address, or payment details.

2. Local Storage and Client-Side Data

To give you persistent stats, customizable sound preferences, and theme choices without needing a database login, our web application uses standard browser Web Storage (localStorage):

  • Typing Session History: Your recent test timestamps, WPM, accuracy, and error counts.
  • Preferences: Sound volume, chosen keyboard click audio, timer length, and dark/light mode preference.
  • Custom Practice Text: Any custom text snippets you paste into the custom practice modal.

* This data never travels across the internet to our servers. You can permanently erase this data at any moment by clicking the “Clear All History” button in the Stats tab or clearing your browser cookies and site storage.

3. Server Logs & Analytics

Like almost all websites, the web server hosting our static assets automatically records standard HTTP access requests (e.g., visitor IP address, user-agent string, page URL requested, and timestamp). These logs are utilized purely for operational security, DDOS mitigation, and diagnosing network latency. We do not tie server logs to individual users.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

typepractice operates strictly without advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site tracking beacons. We do not participate in behavioral ad networks.

5. GDPR & CCPA Compliance

Under regulations like the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you retain full rights regarding your data. Because all application data resides solely within your own device’s browser, you maintain direct, unconditional control over your data at all times.
